My Story

unnamed (5)_edited.png

Since I was 12 years old, I have dealt with many symptoms and health issues. For years, I was in and out of doctors' offices and hospitals trying to find answers. In 2021, my health significantly declined. That year, I had many emergency room trips, health scares, an ambulance ride, and I saw many doctors and specialists. Finally, after almost 12 years of searching for answers, in January 2022, I got diagnosed with lupus and lupus nephritis class 4 (a kidney disease caused by an autoimmune disease). I was instantly put on chemotherapy, a high dose of steroids, and many medications.

Directly after I finished chemo, I went to a holistic Swiss clinic in the middle of the Swiss Alps for 3 weeks. Both Western medicine and holistic medicine saved my life, and since then my health has improved immensely. In June 2024, I got into remission! I found my passion at the Swiss clinic, and immediately pursued holistic health and nutrition. Now as a certified holistic nutritionist and health and wellness coach, I combine my knowledge with my personal experience to empower others with information by sharing holistic resources so that I can help them on their journey for a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Feel free to read my blog and browse my recipes!

A little bit more about me: I'm a wife, mom, certified barre and yoga instructor, and I have a bachelors degree in Family and Human Development. I also love playing the harp, decorating, reading, working on new projects, designing, and spending time with my family.

My Business and Logo:

After I found my passion for holistic health and wellness in Switzerland, I knew my business name should have the name "wellness" in it because it fully covers everything I do. Wellness includes everything from emotional health to physical health.

As I went through the initial anxiety that comes from a new and shocking diagnosis, one of the coping methods that helped me get through my anxiety at that time was imagining my "safe place." Anytime I felt anxious, I would imagine my "safe place" which for me are my childhood memories. Since my childhood is obviously gone, the memories are just memories, and my childhood house is gone, I wanted to use my given name Savannah and middle name Shae, so I can hold onto something from my childhood.

The butterfly is in my logo because the lupus symbol is a butterfly. I also love that butterflies represent transformation, hope, and rebirth. Through this whole experience, I have been able to become a new and different person. I used to say that my disease took away my life, but now I can confidently say that my disease gave me my life. It is shaping me into a person I would not be without it and I am so grateful for that.
