Grain-Free Halloween Focaccia:

Focaccia Ingredients:

-1/3 cup warm water (temperature as if you were giving a baby a bath. Too hot will kill the yeast)

-1 1/2 t. yeast

-1 egg

-2 egg whites

-2 T. raw honey

-1 1/2 t. avocado oil or olive oil

-1/2 t. apple cider vinegar

-1/4 t. salt

-1 1/2 c. almond flour, packed

-3/4 c. arrowroot flour, packed

Topping Ingredients:

-Olive oil

-Garlic powder

-Veggies cut into whatever Halloween shapes you’d like (I used sweet potatoes for the pumpkins, chives for the grass, red onion for the tree, mushrooms for the skeleton heads, red onion for the bat, & a sweet onion for the moon).

Directions:

1. Set the oven to 400°F.

2. Add the warm water & the yeast to a bowl. Let the yeast sit in the water for 2-3 minutes to make sure that it is rising/expanding.

3. Add the egg, egg whites, honey, oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, & whisk together.

4. Add flours & mix. The dough will not resemble typical dough since there is no gluten in it. It will look like pancake batter.

5. Spoon dough into a greased 8x8 baking dish.

6. Spread olive oil on top & sprinkle on garlic powder. Add desired veggie shapes.

7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top! Enjoy! 🎃 👻

Notes:

*You can bake it in an 8x11 glass pan just bake it for less time. About 20 minutes.

*You can use 3/4 cups of almond flour and 3/4 cups of cashew flour instead of 1 1/2 cups of almond flour for a different variation, and it turns out equally delicious

*You can make difference variations of focaccia bread. For example, you can make a cinnamon/sugar focaccia. Spread coconut oil on top, & sprinkle on maple sugar & cinnamon.
