Juicing vs. Smoothies
JUICING VS SMOOTHIES:
What’s the difference between the nutritional value & benefits??
According to Waller (2018) they both have many vitamins, minerals, & enzymes but juice doesn’t have fiber so taking it out means we can drink a lot more nutrient-filled juice. However, fiber is essential for health, so if you drink juice you need to have vegetables as well, don’t drink juice in place of them. Waller (2018) explains that because a smoothie is blended it has the fiber & is filling. However, in order for smoothies to be a meal replacement, you need to fill it with nut milk or another source of vegetable protein, omega-3 rich seeds (like chia or flax), vegetables, & fruit (Waller, 2018).
