My Stay at the Swiss Mountain Clinic 2022
Updated: Dec 3, 2023
Introduction
In the middle of the Swiss Alps in Castaneda, Switzerland lies an incredible medical clinic built on the mountain. The clinic is about 2 1/2 hours away from Zurich (with traffic more around 3-4 hours) and around 1 1/2 - 2 hours from Milan, Italy by car. Directions from the Zurich airport by car are found here and directions from the Milan airport by car are found here. There is also the option to ride the train and get picked up about 30 minutes away from the clinic in Bellinzona, Switzerland at the train station. You can buy the train tickets from Zurich Airport to Bellinzona here. The clinic was founded in 1985 and the MD’s there are all trained in biological medicine. They try and understand the root cause of the patients’ condition and as Dr. med. Petra Wiechel chief physician says, “I do not treat symptoms, I treat the patient. After all, I treat you!”. Read more about the doctors here.
I first heard about the clinic from a friend last year but made the connection that I actually did hear about it growing up! I just didn’t realize it was the same place! The Green Smoothie Girl’s blog would always talk about this clinic in the Swiss Alps, and it turns out it is the same place my friend went to. You can find her her blog posts about the Swiss Mountain Clinic here.
Diagnostics/Treatments
There are many diagnostics and treatments you’ll receive! Before I went, I did a Skype consultation with Dr. Petra and after we spoke, she sent me a treatment plan. My treatment plan consisted of numerous things! Since I have a chronic illness, I was there for 3 weeks. This is what my personal treatment plan consisted of:(Most of them you can click on to be taken to the Swiss Mountain Clinic website for an explanation of each treatment/therapy)
Automatic Nervous System Analysis
Parasite Check
Biophoton Therapy (I did 6 of these)
Colon Hydrotherapy (I did not enjoy this!)
Continuous Shower Therapy (I did 4. You just lay in this large shower and the warm water goes up and down your body for 20 minutes. It was very relaxing!)
Coffee Enema (I did 2, this was so weird at first! Coffee mixed with water is inserted into the rectum).
Indiba (Local Hyperthermia Therapy) (I did 4).
Infusion (I did 6).
INUSpheresis® (This is THE treatment of all treatments! This one is extremely incredible and very important. I just couldn’t do it because I had an allergic reaction to it which is very very rare! I was very disappointed).
Ozone Therapy (I did 6)
Parasite Detox -Frequency Therapy (Did you know most Americans walking around have parasites!? I didn’t know! I did 4 of these).
Vital Wave Therapy (I did 4).
There are even more diagnostics and treatments than what I did! Click here for the diagnostics and here for the therapies/treatments.
My Stay
They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is a buffet, lunch has a salad buffet, then they bring you a meal followed by dessert. Dinner is always served with a small appetizer, soup, then the main course. The clinic is completely gluten free and organic, and for clean food it was pretty good. As an American, the food was considered “different” but I got used to it the longer I stayed. The desserts weren’t as sweet as Americans are used to. I felt so good eating so clean! I loved it. They also serve edible flowers on almost everything!
Each night after dinner they print out your schedule and you pick it up in your mailbox/cubby on the main floor. Your days are pretty scheduled out, so you don’t have time to get bored, but you do get breaks to rest. You can hike to the top village or hike down to the village underneath. I only had the energy to do a smaller hike down to the village below.
It is so peaceful there! There is no Wifi, so the patients can have the chance to heal without Wifi around. They caution cellphone use and tell you the dangers about it, so it’s not allowed in the clinic. They have one Ethernet connection back in your room you can use.
I loved all the people I met there! There are people from all around the world who go there, and it was exciting to meet so many people with different cultures, backgrounds, and languages. The staff there is incredible and the doctors devote their life to the clinic. Dr. Petra Wiechel even lives in the clinic with her husband! I can’t tell you how much I admire their kindness, compassion, and selflessness. I made lifelong friends there, who I will always stay in touch with.
Final Thoughts
I absolutely LOVED the clinic! It is a hidden gem in the world many people do not know about! I am so grateful for the opportunity and hope it continue to help others in the future. The doctors here are INCREDIBLY knowledgeable, and my experience here did NOT disappoint. At home, I wasn’t functioning at all as a wife or a mom. I wasn’t functioning as a human being. I couldn’t even take care of myself. When I got to the clinic I was at a 5% energy level in constant pain. I left the clinic at an 85% energy level and the other day I woke up for the first time since I was 12 without any pain anywhere in my body. I will now have a better quality of life with more energy and less pain with my kidney disease. I now have an understanding of my body from head to toe. I’ll never forget the dear friends I met at the Swiss clinic. The experience turned my life around.
An experience I’ll remember forever.
